The conference hall of the Ismailia Medical Complex, affiliated with the General Authority for Health Care, witnessed today the first international conference on the care of advanced head and spine injuries, which is being held in cooperation with the Egyptian Society of Neurosurgeons.

For his part, Dr. Hazem Ahmed Mustafa, Professor of Neurosurgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Secretary General of the Egyptian Society of Neurosurgeons and President of the Conference, stressed during his speech at the conference the importance of this first international conference that brings together a group of local and international experts in the field of neurosurgery, in addition to various specialties related to head injuries, as a multidisciplinary treatment team that includes accident surgeries, maxillofacial surgeries, pediatric surgeries, intensive care, and psychological and physical rehabilitation treatment after the injury.
He pointed out that head injuries represent a major challenge to public health worldwide, and require concerted efforts to provide the best care for patients. According to statistics from the World Health Organization, head injuries are expected to surpass many other diseases as the leading causes of death and disability, especially among people under the age of 44.
